The album has been recorded remotely in Quincy, MA and Las Vegas, NV during the 2020, 2021 pandemic.
“The existence of this music came as a welcome surprise to me, for I have been a fan of both of these musicians for a long time — Dirk since the early 1990s, and Ra Kalam Bob Moses since the mid-to-late 1960s when, as a member of Gary Burton’s groundbreaking Quartet, Bob gave the rest of us rebels-in-training permission to play straight-ahead jazz while looking like a hippie. Appearances are deceiving …? Possibly. But this music is as honest as the zoom connection is long. Remote creation has never sounded so good nor so immediate. “Honest” is the word that comes to mind.

Dirk K, originally from Germany, is an accomplished guitarist, whose career began in the early 1990s. Releasing 17 CDs as a Recording Artist on Sony, Bellaphon, Fuzzy Music and on his own independent label DIP Records. In addition he recorded 12 CD’s with original projects such as Lockout Station, Quartet Equinox, Das Überschall, Acoustic Journey, etc.. He performed and recorded with renowned artists such as Randy Brecker, Peter Erskine, Toots Thielemans, Dave Weckl, Brandon Fields, Alan Pasqua, Marc Johnson, Terri Lyne Carrington, Gary Meek, Rick Braun, Paul Tayler, Eric Marienthal, Darryl Williams, C.C. Thomas Jr., Al Turner, and many more.
